Hello people, I wonder if someone could help me with this. It concerns my Thai drivers license.

For years I have been going to Thailand on a non immigrant B (business)visa. Buying goods for my business.

But now the consulate is only offering me a 60 day tourist visa.

Is it possible with this Visa to renew my 5 year Thai license for another 5 years? I obtained the licence in Pattaya.

I appreciate any help, thanks!

TLDR : Answer Summary
To renew a 5-year Thai driver’s license, you must hold a non-immigrant visa. A tourist visa only qualifies for a 2-year temporary license renewal, not the full 5 years. Therefore, with a tourist visa, you won't be able to maintain your 5-year license.

Tourist visa will only renew for 2 years not 5 years

Unfortunately you need to be on a non immigrant visa to obtain or renew a 5 year license. If you'll be on a tourist visa, you'll revert back to a 2 year temporary license when you renew it.
