What are my options for extending my stay in Thailand for an extra month after a tourist visa and before applying for a Non-O visa?

I am about to apply for a non o visa 90 day based on retirement. However on this visit i only require use of 30 extra days that it can provide. I have already extended my tourist visa. The 800,000 has just gone into the bank and can remain there whilst i return to the uk for 6 months. Basically my questions are..

1.are there other options for getting the extra month i need instead of non o application at this time.

2.would the process change having had an expired non o but not the time to extend it to 12 month retirement whilst here on this occasion. Or will I simply need to go through the O process application again when i,m in a position to remain longer and utilise 12 month retirement visa status.

Thankyou in advance

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring about options to extend their stay in Thailand for an additional month after their current tourist visa extension expires. They are specifically asking if there are alternatives to applying for a Non-O visa at this time, considering they only need 30 extra days. Additionally, they want to know how their previous expired Non-O visa might affect their current application process for a longer-term retirement visa.

Thanks Tod. I arrived with a tourist visa (60 days permitted) then extended 30 days at the immigration office. Current extension good til 4th April. I believe I would need to apply for non o at least 15 days before expiration (Sukhothai). I fly out 3rd May. Sounds like Covid extension may be the best way forward for me. I need to do some research regards that. Please..is it straightforward enough, can it be applied for in advance of my current extensions expiration and other criteria?

thanks. Just to be clear I have never had a Covid extension, just a standard 30 day extension. “Based on unable to travel”? Do I need to somehow provide proof of this?

IF you just showed up here without having bought a visa from the thai consulate in your country before you came here and were stamped in for free for 30 days you entered on a visa exempt entry AND that can be extended ONCE for 30 days for 1900baht at the immigration office,

AND

if you already got the 30 day extension from your visa exempt entry you COULD apply for a 60 day covid extension (they are not issued for any length of time less than that) at the immigration office for 1900baht.

Those are your two options.

It makes ZERO sense to apply for a 90 day Non-O visa, wait the 2 weeks to get it issued only to leave 2 weeks after you get the visa and have it cancel when you exit the country 🙁

how about we first find out when you originally entered the country, what stamp you entered on AND what extension (if any you're on now)
