My 1 year, multiple entry, non O visa(based on marriage) is expiring at the end of the month.
Can I renew or convert this at chaengwattana?
An immigration officer at the airport told me rescently I should go to chaengwattana to renew it or something along that line. I couldn't completely understand everything but he also mentioned a re-entry permit.
I would normally just go back to the Thai embassy in Laos to be issued a new one, but that doesn't seem like an option now with covid 19/border lock downs.
Thank you for any help. ๐

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring about the possibility of renewing or converting a non-O visa based on marriage at Chaengwattana, as they were informed by an immigration officer to do so. Due to COVID-19 and border restrictions, returning to the Thai embassy in Laos for a visa reissue is not feasible. Suggestions from the community include applying for a 60-day extension for visiting family or converting to a marriage extension.

Better to get 60 days extension base on marriage only 1900 if you go out you need to have insurance and fit to fly certification! I think is too much work...
You can get a 60 day extension at your local immigration for visiting family, 1900 BAHT. Gives you nearly 2 months and hopefully everything gets back to normal and then back to Savannakhet.
