Hello members and moderators, I have seen the following mentioned a few times but I would just like to get a confirmation on it. Is it possible to extend a 60-day tourist (after being extended the regular 30 days) for another 60 days based on marriage (to a Thai obviously)?

What are the requirements/requested documents exactly? Regular TM7 form?

Thank you very much in advance for your reply. A big compliment to the moderators here…doing a stellar job 👏🏻

TLDR : Answer Summary
Yes, it is possible to extend your 60-day tourist visa for an additional 60 days based on marriage to a Thai citizen. You will need to provide proof of legal marriage and can apply for this extension at the Thai immigration office for a fee of 1,900 Thai baht. It's important to check with your local immigration office for specific requirements.

YES... IF you have PROOF of your being legally married to a Thai, you can apply for the 60 day family visit extension of stay at Thai immigration office for 1,900 Thai baht. This can be done one time per Entry into Thailand.

Here's the common found requirements for that extension.

ASK your Thai immigration office for their list of requirements.

I found out on the spot at ChaengWattana. What a waste. I love the randomness of it all. Such an adventure!

Worth mentioning that they add 60 days from the day you apply for extension. NOT to the end date of your current stamp 😞

good to know, some offices start it the day you apply because it's for a different reason than tourism..

thanks a lot. And I presume that’s at Chaeng Wattana?

, That sheet shows 'general' requirements nationwide, not CW specific. You need to get a handout of requirements at your local immigration office.

YES. And be sure to make an appointment in advance for CW.

If you have a real 60 day tourist visa entry stamp you go to the main immigration office out at the government complex (Building B) on Chaengwattana Road and you want Counter J,

You shouldn't have any issue walking up and applying (it won't be that busy if you don't go on a monday or a friday)

OR

You can make an appointment online at this website
