TLDR : Answer Summary
You can extend your 60-day E-Visa once for an additional 30 days. To stay longer, you'll need to leave the country and re-enter or apply for a new tourist visa at a nearby consulate. It's also noted that upon arrival, you may need to present both your e-visa and boarding pass.

Not sure if this info is helpful but I flew in from Canada with an e visa (tourist) and immigration asked to see both my evisa and boarding pass.

very helpful thank you

You can extend it once only for a further 30 days. If you need longer you’d need to bounce out and back or buy a new tourist visa at a nearby consulate.

you can fly to somewhere like Singapore or KL or Cambodia, get stamped in there, stamp out and immediately return to Thailand using the visa exempt entry (assuming you’re from a country that is granted that). Depending on the country you are flying to you may need a visa to enter there.

if you fly back home it would work. You can only apply using the rules for the country you happen to be in at the time of applying

none of the nearby consulates use the evisa system.
