TLDR : Answer Summary
An Indian passport holder on a 15-day Visa on Arrival in Thailand cannot extend this visa. Attempts to extend will often result in a denial stamp rather than an actual extension. There may be an option to apply for a 60-day COVID extension, but approval is not guaranteed. If you wish to apply for this extension, you should visit the immigration office at IT Square Lak Si Plaza in Bangkok, specifically Counter K on the 3rd floor. It's important to note that any extension applications must be made before the initial 15 days are up, otherwise, the remaining time will be forfeited.

As you’ve already been told, you can apply for a Covid extension and if you don’t get it, they will give you a 7 day denial stamp.

You have to ask Malaysian immigration if a denial stamp is considered a valid visa for them.

If not, check if they will accept a visa from Cambodia. If India gets a visa on arrival from Cambodia and Malaysia accepts that then you could spend 1-2 days there and use that to travel to Malaysia.

Can i get a covid extension for 60 days?

You can apply for 60, if they deny you, you will get 7.

Using an agent will cost more but you should be able to get it for sure.

If you apply yourself there’s a chance you will only get 7.

So, would i get the covid extension for 60 days or just 7 days since I'm an Indian passport holder with a visa on arrival of Thailand?

Why would i not get the covid extension?

You probably will get the Covid extension if you pay an agent to get it for you.

But you will pay something like 6-10k baht.

If you apply yourself you pay 1900 but there’s a chance you will be denied.

It’s cheaper to pay an agent than fly to Cambodia, stay 1-2 days then fly back to Thailand.

It’s also a lot less hassle and faster.

Yeah, so there are high chances of getting Covid extension if i do it from an agent, right?

No, they don't accept a visa from Cambodia.

Then you can travel to Cambodia for a couple of days then return to Thailand for another VOA.

But best to first check with Malaysian immigration to see if a 7 day denial stamp is accepted.

A 7 day denial stamp is not a visa. Your visa on arrival will have already expired.

So it’s possible they don’t consider the 7 day stamp to be acceptable.

The first thing you need to know is that Visa on Arrival cannot be extended. The 7 days you mention is IF they let you apply for an extension (they may not let you), they will then deny the extension and stamp a 7 days to exit stamp in the passport. So it's not an extension, it's a denial stamp.

You MIGHT be able to apply for the 60 day Covid Extension. Once again they may or may not accept this application.

For Visa on Arrival in Bangkok, you would go to the office at IT Square LakSi Plaza. You are looking for Counter K on the 3rd floor.

Note that both Covid Extensions and 7 days to exit stamps are issued the same day of application, so if you go before your 15 days is over, you will lose any remaining days.

I'll be going on my 15th day of stay in Thailand, which is on Monday.

They are talking about the 7 day extension denied stamp. Also this is the website of an agent, not an official Thai government website.

I'd be going to Malaysia from Thailand and to get Malaysian visa on arrival, I'd need to have a valid visa from Thailand. If i get the 7 day extension denied stamp, would it be an issue to get the Malaysian visa on arrival.

@Nishant ***********
I have no idea about other countries.

So, what would be the better option for me to stay in Thailand on a valid visa?
Brandon ************
@Nishant ***********
apply for Covid extension and you may get 60 days. The only way to know is to apply.

you can link everything you want. Immigration won't accept your links or screenshots.

But, where has it mentioned that immigration won't extend visa on arrival?

@Nishant ***********
Brandon is right. These agents are slack with their terminology. It's not an extension it's extension denied. If you don't believe him then up to you.

why would they not let me extend my visa on arrival by 7 days if i have all of the required documents?
Siddhartha *********
@Nishant ***********
you know what all required documents are then what is you post here for? Accept it that it is case to case basis! You came here for 15 days so there is no scope of extension! Except the agent that you mention in post - but have to willing to pay! Again indian passport so…! Keep smiling and keep visiting

@Nishant ***********
As I mentioned, VOA cannot be extended. If you apply for an extension, and if they accept that application, they will then give you a 7 day "extension denied" stamp, because you are not allowed to get an extension on a VOA.

So you can apply for a Covid extension, and they will either accept and give you 60 days, deny it and give you 7 days, or refuse to accept your application and you will get 0 days. The only way to know which one is to apply.

it says that visa on arrival can be extended by 7 days and I've even talked with a visa service agent of Thailand.

I've seen it done for 7 days for countries like yours. Still costs 1900 bhat same as 30 day visa extension for other countries. They will probably let you do it. I wouldn't worry. But if you want to stay longer you should see an agent.
