Hi all, when i booked a couple of months ago the visa was 60 days.. my original plan was staying for 59 days, leaving for about a month and coming back for another 30 days (getting a new visa and staying about a another month)

Now they are changing it back to 30 days. is it possible to stay 30 days with the visa i get on arrival, extend it for another 30 days. leave for a month and come back and get another 30 days?

In a word yes you can do exactly that, you are allowed one extension in a 12 month period and a total of 3 visits into Thailand on a tourist visa

You don't get any visa on arrival, you get stamped in without any visa at, called visa exempt. That is now 30 days. Why not just apply for a tourist visa, certainly for your first entry, which gets you stamped in for 60 days so no need to change your plans
