TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires whether traveling to Laos by land will affect their visa exemption duration upon re-entry to Thailand, asking for opinions on the best mode of travel to exit and return. Comments suggest that as a French national, they might receive a 45-day visa exemption regardless of whether they enter by land or air. There's also discussion about potential complications due to previous COVID-related visa extensions and a suggestion to consider using a visa-run service or checking with immigration regarding family visa options.

as I heard you don't get 45 days the second time..

On arrival 45 days plus 30 days

As a French national you’d currently get 45 days on entry whether by land or air.

With a history of covid extensions it’s almost certainly going to be better if you use a “visa-run” service rather than trying to do it yourself. However the Laos border crossings appear to be the best option if not.

you’d probably be best to ask in a local group based around that area. Maybe Udon Thani or Mukdahan or similar
