Can I enter Thailand on a tourist visa if my E-visa is still pending approval?

I applied for E-visa while in Cambodia, but it hasn’t been approved yet and I have a ticket back to Bangkok tomorrow. Does anyone know if I can enter on tourist visa? (Stamp in passport upon arrival) And once DTV is approved, fly out and in?

Thank you in advance.

When did you apply? How long you been waiting? Suggest you stay. Reschedule the appointments.

Yesterday early in the day. I really want to leave tomorrow, so what I’m wondering is if I’m legally allowed to (I haven’t found any info saying that I’m not)

Anonymous participant - so the Phnom Penh embassy has always said it takes 5 buisness days, plus 1, so that is confusing why you would apply yesterday and have a ticket back tomorrow. Now to this response, first it is a visa approval process so the statement “legally allowed” doesn’t make sense. You can go back to Thailand and that has nothing to do with “legality”, but the embassy can deny a visa. There have been multiple cases where the embassy has followed up and asked the applicant to take photo of every page of their passport. Since you can’t work in Thailand, it is also not clear what appointments you have to make that can’t be postponed or done virtually

Have you been waiting for more than 5 days?

no. I don’t think I’ll get it before tomorrow, but I’m wondering if I’m legally allowed to enter Thailand with the DMV still being processed abroad
