Can I return to Phuket on the same day after a quick trip to Singapore?

I'm currently on a DTV and have been in Phuket since July. I'll be exiting next month, close to the 180 days I am allowed to stay here.

I am planning to fly to Singapore and I am wondering if it is necessary to stay a night before I return, or I can catch a flight on the same day back to Phuket.

Any advice is appreciated.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user on a DTV visa in Phuket is questioning whether they must stay overnight in Singapore before returning to Thailand or if a same-day return flight is acceptable. Comments from the community suggest that a same-day return is possible, though some advise that staying longer could reduce immigration scrutiny upon re-entry. Experiences shared highlight that while the rules permit same-day travel, actual enforcement can vary, and some recommend using the trip as an opportunity for a short vacation.

Any reason why you chose not to extend but to do a border bounce instead ?

I did this returning to Phuket. Immigration did get a little bit testy. Asking more questions than they normally would. Spend a few days out there. What I have learnt is what the rules say vs what is enforced varies.

Singapore is pleasant for a couple of days. It's an easy place to get around, food is good, worth staying.

What's the hurry? Never understood why anyone would want to fly back so soon.

In my case, it’s because I hardly had any vacation days left with my employer, and in the hotel (outside of Thailand) my remote-working setup isn’t available to me.

No. I spent two nights in Malaysia over the weekend. But nothing more than that.
