What do I need to know about entering Thailand with a new passport and existing visa?
My experience entering with a new passport
I had my DTV back on April 2025, I enter Thailand for 2 weeks every 2 months on my DTV.
This time i had my passport renewed and I entered through BKK airport, I had my old and new passport + DTV visa printed
Immigration officer took old passport copied something on the computer then stamped the new one.
Asked what to do next time, she said only carry my new passport and DTV visa next time no need to bring the old one except for first entry.
No question asked

I would recommend traveling with both passports. I just entered 2 days ago on my new passport and was asked for my old one. This was my second entry on the new passport. Also, if you don't have an onward flight, sometimes airline gate agents will ask to see your visa. And your new passport number won't match on the visa, and they'll ask to see the old passport. Happened to me on Vietnam Airlines.

As i explained many times, no issue to travel with a new passport.
Wonder what the comments are going to be from those claiming you need to tranfer your e-mail account into your new passport, must be done by the Embassy who issued the visa OR a new visa is needed to be able to enter.

i would still keep the old passport with me when i travel for at least couple of more entries to make sure no issue....

OPAdnan Khairi there shouldnt be any issue, they can retrive all your info through fingerprint and face print, and if your country uses a biomitric passport the one that have a chip it would match
