TLDR : Answer Summary
While it is possible to complete the DTV application on a mobile phone, many users recommend using a laptop for a better experience. The application portal may not be optimized for mobile; thus, alignment issues can occur. A laptop allows for easier document management and reduces the risk of mistakes, which can lead to application cancellation without refund. However, some users have successfully submitted their applications via smartphone, suggesting to save progress frequently and double-check before final submission.

you can do it on phone but need the right software to prepare all documents, merge pdf together, compress, etc.. as the visa application itself on the eVisa portal is basically just a 4 document upload and thats it. plus biodata obviously.

the upload of 4 documents plus biodata is just enough for DTV application, extra info will be asked for if needed.

to create those 4 documents you need specific software to merge files, etc… or how do you put multiple files into one? 😅 especially freelancers / self employed people will have massive amounts of different documents for proof of work. and money too.

You can do it on phone. In some cases, it's better because you can use your phone to shoot picture of yourself and passport and upload it via phone. You can also save your application progress. Save often, and then check it on a computer at a library or a friend's computer to double-check your application before submitting

Better to use your laptop where you can have a folder with all the documents etc saved.

Also, the website/portal is not designed to fit a phone screen and hence has alignment issues.

You have to upload supporting docs, might be easier to defer until you have access to laptop or desktop. You may use libraries, too. Good luck!
