Hello everyone,

I want to know that for changing my tourist visa to working type one, is it necessary to go back to my country? On these conditions:

- I'm iranian,

- The school give me all needed documents, and I already have police clearance, toeic, ...

- My tourist visa expires in 12th of June.

I already asked from the agencies and they told me so.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires whether it's necessary to return to their home country to change their tourist visa to a working visa in Thailand. Responses indicate that, while going to the immigration office for an in-country conversion is possible, it may be safer to apply from their home country. At least 15 days remaining on the current tourist visa is required for in-country processing.

You are out nothing by trying it and if it doesn't work you can go get a 90 day Non-B from a thai consulate in another country.

Its better to go and apply from your country. I recently tried to do the same but couldn't. But you can try your luck!

You would need to go to the immigration office in the area where you live and see if your documentation from the school is enough to do the in country conversion from a 60 day tourist visa to a 90 days Non-B visa. They will give you a sheet that tells you the requirements. You will need at least 15 days on your current stamp to do the conversion in country

I mean when the current entry stamp you have expires you need at least 15 days BEFORE that to apply at the immigration office, so you need to get on this pretty fast

Thanks a lot.

And about "current stamp", you mean current date mentioned in my visa right now, yeah?
