TLDR : Answer Summary
An Indian national can convert a tourist visa to a Non-O visa while in Bangkok, but several conditions apply. Specifically, the individual must have a single-entry tourist visa (with at least 15 days remaining) and must provide relevant supporting documents, especially if the conversion is based on marital status or employment in Thailand. Other types of visas, such as the Non-B visa, have stricter requirements and may necessitate returning to India for processing.

, are you on a single entry tourist visa that got you stamped in for 60 days when you arrived? If so you can apply for the Non-O visa inside the country according to how I posted earlier.
IF you are on a 15 day visa on arrival that you bought when you entered the country for 2000baht you cannot.

Rutvi Kakar A 60 days visa is good to be converted to any other type of visa for Indian pport holders before 21 days left on it.
surely you are aware that Indian nationality cannot enter on visa exempt and only VOA, which VOA is not extendable. Convertable, don't think so. But others can maybe clarify further.

Samuel, IF they don't come into the country on a valid tourist visa they got from a thai consulate before they came here they would BUY a 15 day visa-on-arrival for 2000baht.

Thanx (y) I am well aware of that
The O/P stated they had a tourist visa (not a VOA) and if they do they can indeed do an in country conversion to a Non-Immigrant visa IF they have enough time left on their entry stamp and meet the criteria for the application.
my reply was a boiler plate thing I've got written up which mentions you can do the conversion to a Non-immigrant visa from a 30 day visa exempt or a tourist visa.

okay there is no problem converting a 30 day visa exempt or a tourist visa to a Non-Immigrant visa of most types (B, O etc) You need 15 days or more remaining on your current admitted until stamp to do it because the application goes under consideration for 14 days before you go back and get the Non-Immigrant visa and the new 90 day stamp inked into your passport.
To get a 90 day Non-O visa at the immigration office based on being the spouse of someone who legally works here you need documentation from the spouses company stating it's okay to allow you to get a visa, all his documentation that got him his visa and the marriage certificates.
