Looking forward, but has anyone changed from a full OA visa issued in UK, to a dependent visa? I am unsure if the ‘second ‘ amount of 800,000 is sustainable now. My husband has the same OA visa, so I would become his dependent. I would like to do this without leaving the country if possible. Currently live in Samui.
Not an urgent matter, but would like to be prepared! Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring about the possibility of changing from a full OA visa to a dependent visa while remaining in Thailand. They are currently living in Samui and are uncertain about the sustainability of the financial requirements for the dependent visa. One comment indicates that it is not possible to make the change without leaving the country, suggesting that they must obtain a new Non-O visa from a Thai consulate abroad or enter Thailand on a different type of visa.

you can't do it without leaving the country :( You need to "break the "chain of being on an O-A visa and either get a NEW Non-O at a thai consulate in another country OR enter the country on a 30 day visa exempt or a 60 day tourist visa to convert to a Non-O visa inside the country.
IF you could get out of the country and break the chain of the O-A you couldn't get back IN to the country on a 30 day visa exempt, a 60 day tourist visa OR a new 90 day Non-O visa because of the entry restrictions on foreigners.
