TLDR : Answer Summary
The individual inquires about arriving in Thailand on a Special Tourist Visa (STV) from Australia, marrying a Thai national, and subsequently applying for a Non-O visa. Responses clarify that STV cannot be converted to another visa within Thailand. It is advised to enter with a Tourist Visa, allowing a stay of 90 days, after which marriage can occur, enabling a subsequent application for the Non-O visa, along with possible extensions for family visits.

STV visa is Special Tourist Visa ...gives you one time entry of up to 270 days / 9 months stay in Thailand..only can be applied for in your home country.

You cannot change the STV visa into any other visa inside Thailand.

Suggest you enter on Tourist Visa...that gives you 60+30 =90 days....

Then get married to Thai and apply for the Non O Married to Thai / one year extension of stay as married to Thai.

If added time is needed to deposit the 400,000 Thai baht into a Thai bank account in your name only...once married to Thai you could apply for 60 day family visit extension at Thai Immigration 1,900 Thai baht.

Best wishes...hope all goes well for you and your fiancee in 2022.
