If I have a little less than 500,000 baht in my bank account, I only have 488,000 baht and a monthly income of 40,000 baht online and I apply for the soft power Muay Thai, will that be okay? I apply in Vietnam ?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The consensus in the comments is that to apply for the Muay Thai soft power visa, you need to have at least 500,000 baht in your bank account, as most respondents believe that any amount less than that will lead to application rejection. There are mentions of different requirements based on the country of application, and it is recommended to have a buffer above the minimum amount to ensure compliance with immigration rules.

You'll be fine. The 500k doesn't apply to you. You're the Special One!

No, if you apply with less than 500.000 baht in your account, you are wasting 10 000 in applications-fees.

It will get rejected.

You can spend the money once you get the DTV visa from what I understand. You will need the 500k again when you reapply in 5 years...

Whenever I see a requirement like 500,000 baht, I instinctively think to add an extra 20–30% just to be safe.

500K is the bare minimum—and relying on the minimum seems risky, especially if your visa or future stays could depend on maintaining that balance.

But what do I know? More the better.

it’s 500k. You can show 5 million, they don’t care. But 499k will get you rejected

Don’t bother applying if you can’t afford to have 500,000 THB or equivalent in another currency, the rules are simple and in Thailand always play by the rules 🤷🏿‍♀️

BS they don't always play by the rules. If it suits them they will bend the rules.

Each country has its baht equivalent. Normally a bit more.

Save until you reach 500K THB, then apply for DTV

Ultimately they want you to prove financial self reliance. You absolutely need to have the full 500K in the bank. That said, if you're showing the last 6 months with 488K and then top it up to 500K a few weeks before applying, then you have pretty much shown stability. On the other hand if you only had 40K in the bank and topped it up to 500K a month or two ago then I'd be extremely careful which embassy I applied through.

As far as I know, if you apply from countries like Indonesia - you'd also need to have that amount for 6 months back. If from your own country like Europe, then 3 months. At least that's what the agent told me.
