Why does the Thai embassy in HCM require proof of income for a soft power Muay Thai course visa application?

Applied in Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam) on the 10th for softpower muay thai, I have 6months course 2x per week.

Today (3days later) they ask for complementary information

-proof of mensual income

I'm a bit surprised that this is being asked after yi showed 6months of bank statement and i'm applying for soft power.

Has anyone had the case?

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user applied for a Softpower Muay Thai visa in Ho Chi Minh City and was surprised when the embassy requested proof of monthly income just three days after submission. Other community members commented that it is becoming common for HCMC to ask Softpower visa applicants for employment and income verification, despite the initial application showing six months of bank statements. The discussion revealed varying experiences, with some users needing to provide income proof regardless of their stated employment status.

Hmm see more embassies asking for proof of income. Did you check you were employed? Curious to know.

interesting, I sent the stamp in my passport and the receipt of my hotel, might be enough.

They probably noticed people left Vietnam during the application process.

yup that's exactly what I had beforehand too, they followed up with this a few weeks later maybe because I took a few weeks to send in extra documents

HCMC tends to ask for this, even if applying for soft power

I've seen 3 posts this week that hcmc is asking for proof of income and employment certificate. I think the embassy is now getting more harder, and 500k thb savings isn't enough

What did you put for your employment?, just show how your income is generated, or if unemployed show savings statement, Embassy's are wanting to know you have enough funds to cover your stay in Thailand plus 500k

yes provide the account that shows your getting an income from, not sure why your agent put freelance for soft power, usually that would be for online remote freelance workers, I put unemployed when I did my soft power and just showed savings to support my stay

Embassies are now asking SP applicants for employment and income evidence. When i applied in person in Taipei, SP applicants were asked for employment info and income, they were also taken by surprise by the request.

What did you fill in when asked for employment and income? I will apply at HCMC and plan to enter unemployed and no income.

Ah okay, that could explain it. But, there have been a few mentions also from people applying in HCMC who seem to have entered unemployed and still were asked to supply proof of income.

you mean monthly income? I am guessing you ticked the box of ‘employed’ etc, therefore you are gonna need to prove it now. payslips? i dont know.

But if it really says ‘mensual income’ i am at a loss
