Does DTV have to be applied via Thai embassy in your local country, or any country that a person might physically be? And in case of online application, through which embassy will that go to?
For example, for remote worker DTV, when passport is from north Europen country, while employment and residency is in south European country, while physically being in an Asian country. Can I apply when being in Vietnam for example, via the online application method?
Thanks.

TLDR : Answer Summary
To apply for a Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) for Thailand, you generally need to submit your application at the Thai embassy in the country where you are physically present, not necessarily where your passport is issued or your residency is registered. That said, it's essential to check the specific rules of the local Thai Embassy, as policies can vary regarding who is eligible to apply. For instance, if you are located in Vietnam, you should be able to apply at the nearest Thai embassy there.
There is a test to check which embassy/consulate you should apply based on your passport country and location. If it says you cannot apply for an evisa, then you apply in person at the same location. Use that to figure it out. If you cannot, we are all doomed.
Your passport and country of residence are irrelevant in that case.
You have to apply in the country that you are currently in.
But check with the local Thai Embassy if that is possible because in some countries you cannot apply if you are not a permanent resident. Others to do allow it.
For example: my passport is from Germany and my country of residence is Ireland but I am in Taiwan as a tourist. I am allowed to and will apply at the Thai Embassy in Taipei next week.
