Hey guys, I plan to fly into Hanoi and submit my documents via the embassy/consulate, I know there is a possibility that I can be called in for an interview so I’m just wondering if anyone in Hanoi recently has been called in for an interview or Not? I wanted to travel around to Danang and maybe Hoi An while I wait, do you think there will be any issues just looking for people with past experience in Vietnam. Thanks and I appreciate any help you can give me

TLDR : Answer Summary
The original poster plans to submit visa documents at the embassy in Hanoi and is curious about the likelihood of being called for an interview while wishing to travel to Danang and Hoi An during the wait. Community responses indicate that traveling around Vietnam is generally allowed, and few applicants are called for interviews after applying in Hanoi. The discussion includes varying opinions about the processing speed of Visa applications between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, with some participants asserting that Hanoi has quicker processing times.
why do you say that? The agent I’m using affirmed me out of every embassy around Thailand , Hanoi was ON AVERAGE the shortest, and most consistent turn around times, but I’d love to hear your reasoning
It is not often that Vietnam embassies request for an interview, most of our applicants that we have supported travel around freely within Vietnam. All the best with your application!
If your paperwok is ok they dont usually call you for an interview. Saigon on the other hand is like 50 % chance they will set up one. What option did you use for the DTV and what documents were submitted and we can take it from there
Hoi An & Danang are under Ho Chi Minh if you are planing to stay there ☺️ but yes you can travel around Vietnam while waiting even you apply in Hanoi either
thanks! Is there some place else you recommend? I’ve been to Saigon . Is it wet like rain all day everyday or just spurts of rain through the day? I live in Bangkok and that’s what it’s like here right now
Anonymous participant I think they are currently having a bit of a tropical storm in the area. What about Ninh Binh about 3 hours by road from Hanoi? It on my list for maybe September but 100% in January.
