I am in Malaysia. I plan to go to Padang Besar to request visa a exempt after spending one night in Malaysia
Is being refused a visa exempt provide with a red refused stamp on the passport which would have negative consequences for future visa requests?
Or would getting refused at the border have no major impact?
Then I would go to Penang for a visa.
PS: for those who have responded to my question about bringing a motorbike with a green book not yet on your name, this is what happened: customed let me passed.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is concerned about the potential negative impact of being refused a visa exempt entry into Thailand after spending one night in Malaysia. They are questioning whether a refusal stamp in their passport could have consequences for future visa requests. Additionally, other commenters suggest staying longer in Malaysia before returning to Thailand and clarify rules regarding bringing a motorbike not registered in the user's name.
No problem if the bike is not in your name, just need permission from the owner to take it out. I thought you said it was a brand new bike with no permanent plates yet. Hence, a little confusing.
Anyways, best you return to Thailand after 3 nights away, not 1 night. If you're going to take your motorcycle into Malaysia, you might as well ride it around for a bit longer.
Go to Penang for a visa if you have a history of visa free entries.
