TLDR : Answer Summary
The application process for a Thai visa, specifically concerning financial requirements like having 500,000 THB in your account, can vary significantly depending on the consulate. Some applicants have reported success with funding available for just 24 hours, while others recommend having the funds for a minimum of three months to avoid issues. It is advisable to check individual consulate requirements, as experiences shared indicate varying policies between locations like London, Hanoi, and Washington DC.
That is just one part of the application it depends on yourself previous travel history, whether you are applying for the soft option of workcation . It’s quite possible you will be given just a 6 month multi entry visa for soft options. Not a DTV.
Has anyone done this in Manila? I want to transfer it to my partner's account for soft power application, ideally don't want to wait 1-3 months for it to mature as our lease expires here and want to move asap
Possible, but certainly not advisable. Three months is what I was told as standard; but I’m being encouraged to submit six months worth of financial is to ensure approval. The only way you’re going to know for sure is if you pay your fee and try it out.
That is true but the money should be in the account for at least 3 months, I think it’s to stop people from just getting someone to send the money as proof and send it back once they obtain the visa, it’s to prove the funds truly belong to you
no where on the application portal when I applied did it specify 3 months was required to have the funds. The way they worded it was proof of finances - with 3 month bank statements being an example of proof. Idk if it's different in those embassy portals or all the same
No idea, but when I posted in this group last year about it everyone told me the funds must be in your bank for at least 3 months, but if I’m honest everytime I look on this page people in here create new rules for things. But from my experience I was denied DTV two times with over 800kTHB in my account for around 2 weeks and all documents needed for soft power Muay Thai. ( this was November last year)
