TLDR : Answer Summary
The requirement for how long funds (500K) must be held in a bank account for a Thai visa varies by consulate in Germany. While some say a minimum of three months is required, others report different experiences, including as little as one day or even up to six months. It's advised to confirm directly with the relevant embassy, as experiences differ between cities like Munich and Berlin.
When I did it in Berlin: no seasoning required. Only one latest bank statement with everything inked out except my name and the account balance. As it should be. But that was in the very early days of the DTV.
For me it was just the latest bank statement, money was in the account for 1 day, but that was Munich July 2024. Not sure if they got more strict by now.
the seasoning requirement absolutely does vary by consulate. Some don't care, some want 3 months, some even want 6 months. It is NOT the same everywhere. So it's absolutely a valid question.
the requirements ARE definitely consulate-specific. Sometimes there is no seasoning requirement, sometimes they need to see up to 6 months. To say it's the same everywhere is patently false.
I've seen several posts on Berlin and Munich having different requirements. So to say "it's not city-specific" is patently false and is just plain misinformation, even within Germany.
