The conversation revolves around whether stock trading can be considered as proof of funds for a Thai visa application, specifically the DTV (Digital Nomad Visa). Various comments suggest that while one could technically transfer funds from a trading account to a Thai bank, it's crucial to have liquid assets available at the time of application. Many participants highlight that a trading portfolio alone is not sufficient for meeting visa financial requirements, which typically necessitate having 500,000 baht in a Thai bank account.

No the only assets which are recognized are liquidity in bank accounts but fixed accounts are usually accepted
Christer Bau please explain why you think that? Many people have successfully applied as day traders by showing that they have sufficient funds and profitable accounts.
Ron Manso why hilarious? Something I'm missing here?
I also do the same, as a hobby but don't rely on my trading as primary income (I'm not consistently profitable 😅), nor did I use it as my DTV reason. But if someone is making it work and meets the financial requirements, what funny about it? 🤔
Technically you could transfer your minimum requirement every month out of your trading account to your Thai bank. It just needs to be an international transfer.
Ryan Bishop no need to do so "every month" as for DTV there is no ongoing income requirement. The sole financial requirement is having 500k baht or equivalent at the time of application
