Hi all! I’m getting pressure to put a deposit on our accomodation for 5th September. My understanding is that a visa can only be applied for 90 days before departure. Does anyone know or have experience of whether this is true or flexible? 

Ideally want to apply now (120 days before departure)

Look for different accommodation. Pressure for a deposit so far in advance is a red flag.

Also not a great idea to send money from abroad for a deposit anyway.

If you’re looking for long term accommodation in Thailand, wait till you’re in Thailand and can actually go and see places you might want to live in.

Definitely don’t rush your visa application, or change your plans, based on any kind of pressure from a potential landlord.

You can put in the application and earlier date. Once visa is issued nobody is checking up.

Unless it's fully refundable,

Don't place any long term deposit on anything UNTIL the DTV visa decision is known.

You risk losing your money.

If you apply earlier than 90 days they're likely to just sit on your application, or maybe even just reject it
