Hey.. I've been living in Thailand for a while but now I want to get a Non O visa since my wife works here(non Thai).

- I'm currently in Bangkok and I have more than 15 days to apply for it.

- Can I apply for this kind of visa while in Thailand? Read that it's possible to change the type of visa in the immigration office.

- The marriage certificate, that's actually a domestic partnership or stable union, needs to have sworn translation only? Or anything else is needed?

- It seems that you first get a 3 month visa and then it's possible to extend it to match my wife's visa, is that correct?

Thanks in advance!!!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring about the possibility of applying for a Non-O visa in Thailand, as they are married to a non-Thai spouse. They want to know if they can apply while in Thailand, what documentation is necessary, and the initial visa duration and extension process. Comments suggest that it's possible to apply from within Thailand, but emphasize that a legitimate marriage certificate is required along with employer support for the application. There are also warnings about the tight timeline for paperwork.

personally 2-weeks is way too short. Visit the IO and ask first

Go do a border bounce first with a company. Pack all your paper in case you get pulled over by immi

Yes you can apply for it in Thailand. But 2 weeks is tight for the paperwork. Go disussing it with your local immigration office.

A domestic partnership won't work, you need to be married and show your marriage certificate. Plus you need support from the employer

You would need to go to your immigration office to find out their specific requirements. Most of the paperwork will be the same paperwork that your spouse used to get their work visa, and their employer will also have to approve and provide the required paperwork.

But I don't believe immigration recognizes domestic partnerships.
