TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about applying for a Non-O visa in Phnom Penh at the age of 50, while his wife, as a dependent, does not meet the same age requirement. There is ambiguity regarding the need for a marriage certificate and bank statement duration for the application. Comments clarify that typically the Non-O visa is not granted based on dependence in Southeast Asia, and it's suggested that the user might need to apply for a Non-OA visa instead in their home country.

Most embassies now require you apply for a non-oa visa to allow your wife to get a trailing spouse visa. You can only do that in your home country

So, an agent in Thailand f said he could do it but was costly. He told me if my wife can get non a in Cambodia do it because easier. So, now they don’t do it. Not flying all the way back to her home country to apply. I was told once I have the retirement visa she can apply outside Thailand. But me getting the non o here and then extending it in Thailand doesn’t help her get a non a at embassy here. Is it worth a try dollying for both? In Hanoi they told me I could even apply for non o myself unless in my country. Maybe she confused non o with non oa.

it used to be possible to get a dependent non-O trailing spouse visa at a couple of the Thai embassies in the region, but that's no longer the case as of a few months ago

was told by agents in pattaya they can do the dependent add on. One said she had to leave once I had my extension and apply at embassy

What embassy though? No embassies offer it anymore. The last 2 stopped a couple of months ago. There's no embassy in SE Asia that will provide a trailing spouse non-O visa anymore. That's the issue. You can only get it in your home country now, and not even every country offers it at all. More and more people are required to do the 800,000 in the bank for both spouses now. If one is under 50 then there's not many options.

No idea what you’re trying to say here. Some embassies will only issue a Non O dependent visa to a spouse applying for a Non OA visa. Some will allow for a Non O based on being over 50.

You can apply for the Non O. There is currently no consulate or embassy in SE Asia that will issue a Non O based on being dependent. You could try in your home country for such. You may or may not get one.
