Can I apply for a METV visa from Vietnam instead of my home country?
*UPDATE* after lots of researching online and asking questions. I was kept being told for the METV Thailand visa i have to apply from my own county. And wait for acceptance. My lawyer said rubbish.
No problem. He'll get it for me. Just tell him which hotel im stayimg in, in Vietnam and we're good to go. Send him tickets from HCMC to Phuket and back 60 days later. And he'll sort it. Don't worry he said. No problem. Because inwas panicking. Tuesday night he sent in paperwork. Today (friday) I just recieved 6 months METV @

OPAnyway. I hope ive helped some people with a little sence of what can and can't be done now im off through immigration to illegally enjoy meeting my Mrs and having a blast. I may even over stay 12 months and ruin my chance of getting back in to visit my loved one 🙄🤣🤨FML

congratulations for hiring a lawyer when you could just email the embassy and ask yourself. The same rules that apply to you also apply to your lawyer. He didn't get anything done you could not have done yourself.

You didn't need a lawyer. The METV has been available from both Laos and Vietnam for a while now. But those are the only 2 embassies that we know of that will allow non-residents to apply for an METV. All other embassies only allow you to apply if that's where you are a resident. So normally yes, you do have to apply in your home country.

OPJust that everywhere i researched everyone i ( who chips in their 2 cents knowledge who haven't really a clue what they talking about) told me impossible. Can't be done, so I thought I'd just post to help those that listen to these know-it-all key board warriors (who really have not a clue at all).

Bob D'Andrea I agree with you. Some fucking books nerds and keyboard warriors think they know everything and always say it cannot be done are always proven wrong. I did mine renewal for extension of stay 90 days early and these nerds swear it can only be done 30 to 40 days early and when I post picture of passport stamp they are still convince in their peanut size brain that it's not possible.
