TLDR : Answer Summary
An expat recently shared their experience of obtaining a Non-O multi-entry visa valid for one year at the Thai embassy in London, which was granted due to being over 65 and receiving a state pension. The discussion highlights that this visa type allows holders to travel in and out of Thailand every 90 days without needing to maintain a financial minimum in a Thai bank account. Other users commented on the historical context and variability of this visa type in different countries, noting that while it's available in the UK for pensioners, similar options have become more restricted in the USA.

These 0ne year Multi-Entry O visas used to be issued in the United States for just being over age 50. I got one in 2014 - used it for 15 months with that last exit and reentry to get the extra 3 months. But as far as I can determine - sometime in late 2015 - early 2016 issuing this type of multi O became restricted to a few mostly uncommon justifications - gone was the issuance for being over age 50. Still this was as far as I know.
This topic has nothing to do with getting a year-long multi-entry visa in Savannakhet based on marriage or getting a 60 day visit family extension in Sisaket :/
The O/P posted they got a year long multi-entry Non-O visa issued in the UK based on being over 65 and showing they get a pension. With this visa they "border-bounce" every 90 days for the validity of the visa.
