So, I read that it does matter which embassy you submit your DTV visa application to in terms of time and other factors.

But if you apply online, you have no business dealing with any embassy, right?

So you are dealing with the embassy.

When you apply online you must supply your location and your application is dealt with by the relevant embassy for that location. You need to prove which country you are in during the application. Apply in the country you are in and remain in that country until the process completes.

You apply online but to a specific embassy/location. In this group there are many posts that are dealing with specific embassies. Have a look and decide where you will apply. The majority apply in home country or in a country close to Thailand.
