I was told by a visa agent that I can apply for the DTV visa at any embassy online. It doesn't have to be the embassy in the country where my passport is issued or the country where I am currently working. I've been told that some of the embassies in Asia (Cambodia, Vietnam and Indonesia) have quicker turn around times. As I plan to travel soon this would be advantageous to me. Does anyone know if this is true or has anyone done this yet?
TLDR : Answer Summary
Yes, it is possible to apply for a DTV visa at an embassy outside of the country where your passport was issued or where you currently work. Many expatriates frequently apply for the DTV visa at various embassies, particularly in Asia, like Cambodia, Vietnam, and Indonesia, which may have quicker processing times. It is crucial to be in the country of the embassy when submitting the application, and you may need to provide proof of your presence there, such as an entry stamp or hotel booking. While you can engage a visa agent, many users found that the application process is straightforward enough to handle independently.
