I have been following this group for a while and want to share my experience . I see so many comments here that are so frustrating . If you just follow the guidelines and apply exactly as required it’s so easy . We have easily received 2 Visas recently . I have Come into thailand with my visa 3 times now with my visa . Nothing printed . Straight through . The visa took 4 days and approved . Just research and make sure you are applicable for what the visa is actually for. From what I see if you can prove the requirements as a remote worker and supply what’s required it’s really really simple .

TLDR : Answer Summary
The poster shares their positive experience applying for visas in Thailand, emphasizing the importance of following guidelines accurately for a smooth process. They successfully received their visas and entered Thailand multiple times without issues. Comments from others in the group suggest that while the process can be straightforward for some, it can also be quite complex depending on individual circumstances. Tips include combining PDF documents for ease of application and ensuring that all requirements are met. The discussion reflects a need for patience and understanding within the expat community regarding the varying experiences with visa applications.

From what I've read and experienced soft power is relatively easy to apply for..as long as you choose a school that is properly approved and knows how the correct paperwork to provide. The remote worker/workcation route is a bit more complicated because the particulars of each person's situation differ. Even situations that are similar can have a couple of different things happening. Then add to that the consualtes and the people working in the very same consulate handling things differently.

Applying for the remote work DTV visa is simple — just follow the steps and combine your PDFs.

You say follow the guidelines exactly, yet the embassy guidelines say to print your visa. You're at risk of receiving the wrong stamp when you enter by not handing your visa over to the immigration officer along with your passport when you enter.

BUT PRINT OUT the DTV visa ....that's not what he wants to hear or do. He's obviously a New GenX and feels empowered by the stroke of his cell phone.

It's always a per-case scenario, regarding the DTV application, not a one-case-fits-all. It can be easy for some because they have exactly what the Embassy expects to get, while some other people will have to 'work' much harder on it, with a higher chance of being rejected.

genuinely no disrespect here but if the group is giving you such a headache and causing you this much unnecessary stress, why are you still in it?

read me again then, you misunderstood my point. Depending what country you're from, and/or your professional background / current activities and/or your financial documents (not talking about having the 500k THB here or not, or being able or not to support yourself during your stay), some embassies will simply be stricter than others in validating your application (and it can even get tougher to get validated from a given embassy at a different period of time, everything fluctuates here, this is Thailand!).

I think people (like myself) just joined for some kind guidance when things get a bit confusing.

We’re all from all over the world with different experience levels with this type of thing and my understanding is that the group could be a bit more patient and friendly to people who are just genuinely here for some advice and friendly guidance 🫶
