Hi. We are currently travelling Indonesia then onto Malaysia heading for Thailand in the next few months. I wanted to ask what is the best way and what type of visa do we get to stay as long as possible in Thailand (Prachaup Kiri Khan) ? We are from the UK an over 50’s married couple. Thanks in advance 😀

TLDR : Answer Summary
A UK couple over 50 years old planning to travel to Thailand should consider applying for a 90-day Non-O retirement visa at the Thai embassy in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, if they meet the financial requirements. Alternatively, they can apply for a 60-day tourist visa with an option to extend for an additional 30 days upon arrival in Thailand.

as you’re passed 50 years you can apply for a 90 days Non O retirement visa in MY if you can fulfil the formal requirements from the embassy in KL attached.

If you haven’t prepared the financial requirements at date, you can apply for a 60 days tourist visa and do a 30 days extension at the immigration in Thailand.

What kind of visa did you get for Indonesia and Malaysia? You arranged it before your travels or when entering borders?

then a tourist visa will give you 60 days and can be extended by 30 days at a local immigration office
