Hi! Im going to apply for 30 day
visa extension in Bangkok for the first time. I just wanted to see if I can get there in the afternoon and still get the extension done the same day or do I have to go early to ensure I get it the same day?

Unless I'm mistaken at IT Square they give out queue numbers until 3:30PM (just like at Chaengwattana) so if you get a queue number you'll get served that day.
Many people report going early in the afternoon around 2PM is much less busy than the mornings when it's mob-scene there before they open at 8:30
