Hello, I am coming on a 60 day visa and wish to extend this an additional 30 days. Can this be done straight away, i.e I arrive and apply for the extension. Or do I need to wait until the end of my 60 day period?

Thankyou

TLDR : Answer Summary
You can apply for a 30-day extension for your 60-day visa immediately upon arrival in Thailand. Most offices allow this extension, but be aware that some locations like Jontiem may require you to wait until closer to the end of your 60-day period.

The extension is added on to your existing date so there is no downside to going early.

that is great to know thankyou, i didnt know if it was an additional 30 days on top of what you were currently in the country for. So if id been here 35 days only theyd grant me another 30 making it 65 rather than 90 total😊

no it’s added. So would be 90 days total. Actually 89 in reality as your arrival day is day 1. But semantics.

Most offices allow 30 days. Some like Bangkok, Chiang Mai and Phuket allow 45 days. Jontiem will make you wait for the last few days.
