Hi All.

I assume this question has been asked countless times in the past, however, I can't find it on the search bar.

I am applying for a new Non-B in the UK. Process is to get the 3 months first, head over and then get the 1 year.

My question is regarding my passport validity. When applying for the 3 month I will have over 1 year on my passport, when applying for the 1 year I will have approx 8 months left on it.

Forgive me if this is a stupid question but would it still be possible to get the 1 year given that my passport will be out of date by then, or will I have to renew whilst I am in the UK now.

Cheers

Sam

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking clarification on whether they can apply for a 1-year Non-B visa while having less than 6 months left on their passport, despite having over a year when applying for the initial 3-month visa. Responses suggest renewing the passport before applying for the longer visa to avoid complications.

Your one year extension will only be granted up until the expiry of the passport. To avoid complications, get a new passport now
