Is there a way to amend a document once submitted?
Answer summary
The discussion centers around the possibility of amending a submitted document for visa applications in Thailand. While specific comments do not directly answer the question, there are related exchanges that touch on the intricacies of Thai visa policies, particularly the Destination Thailand Visa (DTV), which allows stays of 180 days, and the extension policy. It's suggested to engage with the immigration office for updates or changes, as they have the final say.

one of Thai Immigration characteristics : depending on the office place, the officer in charge, laws are constantly different !

DTV visa is stated to get 180 days.

So far I never seen anything contradicting that.

It’s just like anywhere else. If your visa is in order and your requirements remain in order and yes you don’t get caught up in any legal/immigration trouble it will be smooth, as with any border watch out for officer Hardass having a bad day, but you’ll be A-okay. Thailand semi- regularly has immigration crackdowns, but these are targeting rule/law breakers and exploiters of a generous system.

Also the new Thai immigration rules have not come into affect at the moment . Just wait till it is published in the royal gazette then the changes will come into affect . So basically any visa applications before it is in affect will still profit the old system .. simple I would say .

The Destination Thailand Visa (DTV) is a 5-year multiple-entry visa launched by Thailand to attract digital nomads, remote workers, freelancers, and participants in Thai soft power activities (such as Muay Thai, culinary training, or medical treatment). It allows stays of up to 180 days per entry, extendable once for an additional 180 days.

So 180 plus 180 is 6 months

Shane Nicholls so you see you were wrong and it's not 6 months visa? And no, 180 days is not 6 months, almost but not fully. Sometimes 5 months 28 days, sometimes 5 months 29 days but never 6 months.

Shane Nicholls no it's not, it's stamped 180 days. And this is not 6 month visa, this is 5 years visa. Are you first day here?

DTV and thai elite card is now under investigigation because they think people abuse these visas same they discoverd about ED visas.
Luit *****************
Luit *****************
Stig Fjellstad You only have to look around here for some time, to see they might be right about that use.

But when they did not want that kind of use, they should have made more strict requirements.
RadiantC********

Stig Fjellstad The DTV isn't under any more scrutiny than other visas per se. It all depends on how you use it and any prior history you as an individual has.

180 days is not 6 months. Sometimes 1 or 2 days do huge difference, for example with taxes.

To whoever that's reading,

180 days = 180 days. Not necessarily 6 months because not every month have the exact 30 days. So always check the stamp date on your passport

no you do not, not with a DTV. This Visa grants you 5years in Thailand multiple entry, so the first entry a six month stamp extendable once which means you don’t necessarily have to leave and return. But after the second six months, you will need to take a small trip and return for a fresh six month stamp
