Has anyone successfully opened a bank account with DTV? through agent or any other method? I know that it's not possible to open bank account with DTV, but was wondering if there are any ways, since it's too inconvenient to live without one.

all the stuff we see about foreigner crackdowns are because of guys like this, and are the reason why DTV and many other visa types are not allowed bank accounts in the first place. stop looking for the dodgy solution to your problems

Just open a Wise account in your home country. Simple and practical and you can use other currencies too. If I want to avoid the ATM fee or pay QR codes I just transfer to my girlfriend and she withdraws or pays for me.

I just got the advanced account upgrade based on DTV. First time rejected so I sent again. Picture of my DTV visa and DTV stamp in passport. Happy I can use prompt pay now but need to take care with small vendors as there is a limit of 30-31 free transactions per calendar month.

no, you can do it with a DTV as well. I use it (the so-called advanced account, yes), and I don't have a driver's license.Luit *****************

I thought it was self explanatory but that's a fair point - they didn't specify. But you can't get a DTV without a bank account of some kind, or how else would you prove funds/spend or withdraw cash.

Some agents will open, some request you sign a waiver that you accept the account maybe closed due to bank regulations.
