Hi guys, a question on the Thai multi entry tourist visa.... For UK citizens....

If I understand right, it grants multi entry over 6 months period, 2 two month stays.... I read that you can extend the two months stay by a month..... So does this mean I can use this visa to have two 3 month stays?

Thanks for your time!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The Thai multi-entry tourist visa (METV) for UK citizens allows for multiple entries over a 6-month period, each stay lasting up to 2 months. However, it is possible to extend the 2-month stay by an additional month, which means that if planned correctly, one could potentially have two stays of up to 3 months each by utilizing border bounces.

Yes. And if timed correctly you can get close to 9 months out of it

hi John,how do you get the nine months from it ?

If you come back to Thailand just a couple of days before the visa expires, you get (the last) 60 days of stay again. And this you can extend again for 30 days at the imm. office.

Can a ln onward ticket be within 90 days rather than 60 days?

Mmm, I must admit I never read that with a multi entry Tourist visa you still need the '3 proves' (20kเธฟ (or equivalent money) cash, Prove of stay and onwards ticket within 60 days out of Thailand) with a border hop/bounce. In my thoughts it would be a bit strang with that visa. Visa exempt is a different story. But.....y'll never know. Maybe better ask at the Thai Visa Advice group (without 'and everything else'). There are some very knowledgeable people.

With an METV you can get almost nine months with two border bounces

Hi Jim,how do you manage nearly 9 months?

@Jason *****
You bounce on the last day of the visa validity, giving you another 60 days, plus a further 30 days extension

You re-enter just before the 6 months expires to get a new 60 daystamp then a 30 day extension
