TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses a person's current status on a NON-O visa in Thailand and inquiries about any recent changes to the process for applying for a one-year visa. Comments clarify that there have been no significant changes in recent years, and potential reasons for applying for an extension (e.g., marriage, retirement, or raising half-Thai children) are mentioned. They also point out where to find official immigration information.

Which extension of stay are you applying for? An extension of stay based on marriage, OR an extension of stay based on raising half-Thai children? For the extension of stay based on raising half-Thai children, there are NO seasoning requirements for the 400K THB (unlike extension of stay based on marriage)

If you're in Bangkok, you'll want to use Muang Thong Thani Immigration office. You'll want to make an appointment as well

and what immigration website are you referring? There’s lots. There’s 70+ different offices, and many have their own websites. Not all are current in what’s needed.

There’s been no changes for at least a couple of years. For what reason would you be applying? Marriage, retirement?

yes i have this in my own account i created couple weeks ago just making sure that the requirements are still the same 🙂i live with my wife and family not at a registered address. But its the address i gave the immigration when i came to Thailand

you or your wife or your landlord have to file a TM30 (within 24 hours of your arrival). You’ll need proof of this filing on applying for an extension.

it’s something that many don’t do, some offices don’t enforce it, but many do. Completely up to the office you use as to whether it’s an issue. Fine for not doing it is usually capped at 2000 baht.

so i wil be okay if i just pay the 2,000
Stuart *********
The best way is if your wife or landlord register to be able to do this online. Then you can file a report for any date. They don’t check the 24 hour issue, just the fact that you’re registered.

so you need 400k in a bank account in your name only for 2 months before you apply. Generally it needs to stay in the account for 30 days after (during the under consideration period - but that’s office dependant) but after that you can spend it as you like. Only needs to back to 400 two months before the next extension.
