ORIGINAL POSTER
Has anyone in this group on the DTV been able to renew their 2 year driving licence to a 5 year licence at the Phuket transport office?

I have seen people say they were able to do it at some other transport offices but I haven't seen anyone say it about Phuket yet. I will go to the office and ask but first I thought I would just check if anyone in this group has done it. Thanks Gump 🐒

TLDR : Answer Summary
The query seeks information about the possibility of renewing a 2-year driving license to a 5-year license specifically at the Phuket transport office for holders of the DTV. A comment notes that the Department of Land Transport (DLT) states that only long-term visa holders can apply for the 5-year license, although there may be exceptions at different offices.

According to the DLT only long term visa holders can apply for the 5 yr license. That’s not to say you can’t get one at certain offices but that is the official qualification on the website.
