Does anyone know if the Land Transport Office in Chiang Mai still issues 5 year licenses for DTV holders? I am already on my second 2 year driving license.

I read some reports that they do, but I don't want to fly to Chiang Mai for nothing. Trat DLT does not issue 5 year licenses for DTV holders

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post inquires whether the Land Transport Office (DLT) in Chiang Mai continues to issue 5-year driving licenses for holders of a DTV (Tourist Visa). While there are reports suggesting it may be possible, the responder clarifies that typically, only DLT holders with a Non-immigrant visa are eligible for a 5-year license. Therefore, the original poster seeks confirmation before traveling to Chiang Mai for this purpose.

In theory no DLT office should as the DTV is a glorified tourist visa. Normally you need a Non-immigrant visa to get the 5 year licence.
