Hi team. I’m a Fifo (Fly in fly out of Australia) working a 2 on 3 off roster. Other than 2 years of Covid I been living in Thailand for over 13years coming in and out on a tourist Visa via Suvarnbhumi AP, never a problem…

I’m keen for a DTV for various reasons including but not limited too, long stays other than my 3 weeks off, drivers license renewal for longer than 12 months, accounts and personnal reasons.

My question is, has anyone FiFo here or know of anyone FiFo been successful with this DTV?

Thanks in advanced 💙

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user, a FIFO worker from Australia living in Thailand for over 13 years, inquires about the possibility of obtaining a Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) to facilitate longer stays and personal matters. A commenter responds, indicating that FIFO workers are not eligible for a DTV and suggests exploring alternatives, noting that a DTV is essentially a tourist visa and does not allow for a 5-year driving license.

You can't get a DTV for FIFO working so you would have to apply using one of the soft power options. Also the DTV is basically a glorified tourist visa so you can't get a 5 year driving licence on it, you need a non-immigrant visa for that
