Will a recent job start date affect my visa application in Thailand?

Hello everyone! I’ve not been working for the past year (took time out to travel) and have just started a new remote job. I will have all the required documents as well as 500k THB in the bank for 6 months, however I’m worried that as I have just started this new job that I could run into trouble. Would an employment contract with a recent start date be problematic? Do they want to see evidence of being paid for the last x months in the bank statements? I know this probably differs between embassies but just wanted to see if anyone has been in a similar situation?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The poster is curious about the implications of beginning a new remote job when applying for a visa in Thailand, specifically regarding whether a recent employment contract and the status of their bank statements could pose issues. Community comments suggest varying experiences with visa applications; some share that proof of sufficient funds was the primary requirement, while others indicate that longer employment history could be preferred. Overall, it appears that as long as the necessary funds are present, a new contract may not be a significant issue based on personal experiences.

You will be ok. Thailand still hasn't woken up to many of the scams yet. Eventually I guess they will need to want to see that peoples account balance has some connection with their current service agreement and inward remittances will continue.

Hi
@Chris ******
I just got my DTV (via London embassy)

They just wanted to see the money (THB500k) in the bank, they didn’t care if it had been in there for 3 days or 3 months.

I used a visa agent so I’m not sure if that had any sway but it was no issue.

They didn’t like my contract because it was over a year old, I think a newer one is preferable.

Are you reading all the posts regarding DTV. I never read a post that asked pay for pay checks and job duration. Why don't you apply and pick an embassy and find out for yourself.
