Can a DTV holder open a savings account in Phuket as a property owner?
Bank account in Phuket – DTV holder who owns 2 condos (freehold, foreign quota)
Has anyone recently (2026) opened a savings account in Phuket on a DTV *as a property owner*? Bangkok Bank officially lists property ownership as an eligible route, but branch staff often say no. Which bank/branch actually accepted the Chanote/FET as basis? Residence certificate, Thai SIM in my name and lawyer letter available. Thanks!

No, it has always been known that it is a tourist visa, with lesser rights than a proper long term visa.

I guess you your condo blue book, apply for a pink ID card then use the pink ID to open an account.
