Hi group, as a British national if I apply in advance for a tourist visa at each entry, can I enter land borders more than twice per year?

Iโ€™m aware that VOA is limited to two land border entries a year.

Thanks,

Daniel

TLDR : Answer Summary
A British national can indeed enter Thailand through land borders more than twice a year if they apply for a genuine tourist visa from a Thai consulate. The limitation of two entries per year applies only to visa-exempt entries. For longer stays, it is recommended to consider the METV (Multiple Entry Tourist Visa), which allows for extended stays through multiple entries.

AND if you are planning to stay in Thailand longer... suggest you get the METV multiple entry tourist visa available ONLY in your home country. With planning it can get you up to 9 months stay in Thailand with a few simple LAND or By Air border entries.

Planning to get back to back Tourist Visas from SE Asia Thai Embassy or Consulate is NOT wise. Get the METV multiple entry tourist visa before you fly to Thailand.

there's no SE Asia Thai Embassy or Consulate that will issue you a METV without residence status in the Country of application.

but AVOID POIPET BORDER CROSSING entries into Thailand. It's problems for foreigners entering Thailand from Cambodia.

Surprisingly this topic comes up quite a lot

IF you get a real tourist visa from a thai consulate there is NO limit on the number of entries you can make by land

The limit of TWO 30 day entries by land in a calendar year (Jan 1 - Dec 31) is if you enter on a "visa exempt entry" ONLY.

You've got VOA (visa on arrival) and visa exempt entry terms mixed up ๐Ÿ˜‰
