If you have done two border bounces on visa exemption stamps (UK passport) at Malaysian land borders in the last six months , can you still cross the land border on your next visit if you purchase a 60 day tourist visa from the Thai Consulate ?
I assumed max 2 land border crossings irrespective of visa or visa exemption but I've been told that is not the case.
Secondly , if you cannot cross the land border with the tourist visa , would flying from Malaysia into Thailand be acceptable ?
Many thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
A UK passport holder can enter Thailand by land on visa exemption twice in a calendar year, not limited by a six-month rule. After obtaining a 60-day tourist visa, they can cross the land border even if they have already used their visa exemption. Flying into Thailand from Malaysia with a tourist visa is also acceptable.
People from 52 countries (UK being one) can enter thailand by land TWO times without a visa (on the visa exempt entry program) in a calendar year (Jan 1 - Dec 31)
There is no 6 month anything..
AND
If you have a valid VISA you can enter by land as much as you want
