Today a foreigner friend went to Thai immigration with a TM 30 to report his return to his home province after a trip over the new year holiday.‬

‪He was told all reporting requirements connected to TM30 are canceled. No more reporting of a return after leaving your home province‬.

This happened in Mahasarakham Province today, January 2nd.

TLDR : Answer Summary
Recent updates indicate that most Thai immigration offices have canceled the requirement to report TM30 for domestic travel, especially after returning to your home province. A foreigner reported this change in Mahasarakham Province, and comments suggest that while most locations are following this new rule, it's still advisable to check with your local immigration office for specific protocols.

CHECK WITH YOUR IMMIGRATION OFFICE to see how they handle in country travel and TM30's

Correct, thankfully most all (not every one but most of them) of the immigration offices went to the no reporting a TM30 for in country travel anymore.

Check with your office, BUT most now only require a TM30 be re-filed when you come back from out of the country.

Thanx for the update (y)

Finally something that makes sense :P

Even when you travel outside the country, things are different. I took my TM 30 to immigration last week after returning from Singapore. They tossed my form in the trash bin, typed a couple things into the computer and told me to go.
