I just returned to Yasothon after being in Bangkok for 4 days
Registered online for Tm30
I went today with completed Tm28 to Immiģration office in Yasothon . The officer advised it is no longer required to complete TM 28 if travelling to different provinces within Thailand. She stated this was a recent change.
So has anyone heard and confirmed this change? There seems to be a lot of conflicting information.
Thank you.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A recent inquiry raised concerns about the necessity of completing the TM28 form when traveling within Thailand's provinces. An immigration officer in Yasothon mentioned that the TM28 is no longer required for internal travel, but conflicting reports from various immigration offices suggest otherwise. Comments from the community indicate a lack of uniformity in the application of rules across different regions, with some offices stating it is only necessary when leaving the country or annually. Overall, the information reflects the variability of immigration enforcement practices in Thailand, emphasizing the importance of checking with local offices.
And the conflicting information will be going on for ever. Every body has their own opinion. The EU announced the way they see this address registration, a bunch of entrepreneurs in foreign countries shared their view, an American organization is telling every one it is cancelled on their orders and nobody has to register anymore. To many people like t be named in the head lines, but at the end of the day, if your local immigration office enforce the Thai law you apply or get fined.
There will be conflicting information because Thailand is organised in such a way as to give officials the leeway to interpret things in their own way. I would suggest that the most important opinion is that of the office you will need to be dealing with on a regular basis. What anyone else thinks is the right way to do things is probably less important.
