Hi I live in Koh Tao and got married to a Thai in the UK in 2023. I want to change from my non-o 90 day visa to a one year non-o visa.

Have been told by my visa agent that she doesn't know how to help me... 🙄so hopefully you guys can help me.

What do I need to do? I have read many threads and there is always contradictory advice so I am very lost.

Do I apply for the 'affirmation of marriage status' form on the UK gov website? That form is worded as if it is for unmarried persons and also asks what date and location I'm going to be married in, which makes me think that is the wrong form for someone who is already married. Don't want to pay £75 for the wrong form.

I have heard I need to get a "kor ror 22" and also certify my UK marriage certificate then get it translated but not sure how to go about it.

Can anyone please shine some light on what I need to do?

Thank you!

When a Kor Ror 22 needs to be reprinted with a more recent date, must this be done at the office where the marriage was registered initially or can it be done at any district office? TIA

Depend visa extension questions, we've been told to provid our marriage certificate date less than 3 months by our lawyer. it seems a tight timeline as we need to have it shipped from France. What we have in hand is what we got from May, would this work if I apply for my extension in OCT? anyone can find relevant official info about it?

my marriage visa is due for renewal, just checking the embassy website and there's no mention of needing a letter from the Amphur to prove you are still married, I had to get one last year. Do I need the prove we are still married? Many thanks

Does a translation of my UK marriage certificate need to be certified by the Thai Embassy in London?

I am asking in relation to obtaining a Kor Ror 22 for a 1-year extension based on a marriage in the UK. My question is specific to a UK marriage certificate and getting the correct documentation in place.

My understanding of the process is as follows:

1. IN THE UK: Marriage certificate legalised by the FCDO in Milton Keynes

2. IN THE UK: Mariage certificate verified by the Thai Embassy in London

3. IN THAILAND: Marriage certificate translated

4. IN THAILAND: Translation of marriage certificate verified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

I am asking for clarification as to whether or not the Thai Embassy in London need to verify a translation of the marriage certificate, or if that only needs to be done by the MFA in Thailand.

Thank you!

I got married to my Thai wife outside of Thailand (Canada) and I’ll soon be travelling to Savannakhet, Laos to apply for a non-Immigrant O Visa.

Will I need to get a Kor Ror 22? I’ve heard that this is only needed to extend the O Visa and not for the initial application at an embassy.

Additionally, will I need the certificate to be translated to Thai language or is it ok for it to be in English?

Good afternoon all,

I have a question regarding when applying for a non-immigrant "O" one year extension based on marriage to a Thai national. Does the Ampur whom you obtain your kor ror 22 form matter jurisdictionally regarding where you can apply for the one year extension? I plan to apply for my one year extension in Jomtien. Will it be a problem if I obtained our kor ror 22 (recognizing our legal marriage in Thailand) from the Ampur in Bangkok? In other words, will the immigration office in Jomtien require that our marriage and kor ror 22 came from their jurisdiction and where we plan to reside, being Pattaya? Thank you all in advance!

In retirement, my Thai wife and I plan to spend 50% of my time in Thailand and 50% of my time in Canada. From your posts, I believe I have two options (likely more) for staying in Thailand for 5 or 6 months at a time. First, I can get a multi exit re-entry Non O 90 day visa allowing me to stay for 90 days and then do a border run for another 90 day stay. Second, I can get a 90 day Non O and extend for a year based on marriage (in Canada) or retirement. My preference is for one of the extension processes. I'm assuming that I could leave Thailand for a 6 or 7 month period and return before my year runs out to renew the extension. Are there any pitfalls I should be aware of for each option? Any advantages? Any other options I should consider? I also noted some comments on a Kor Ror 22 in recent posts. My wife and I were not aware of this. On line searches don't mention the need for this to have a Marriage extension. Please let me know if it's something I should prepare for.
